People who move to Salt Lake City may wonder: of course, there's stuff for adventurers to do in town, but what about parks and farmer's markets? We're here to tell you that YES—Salt Lake City is filled with attractions and entertainment for all Salt Lakers. Luckily, some of the best attractions are right in the middle of large neighborhoods of Salt Lake homes—so they're easy to get to and convenient no matter where you end up laying your head at night. Here are the best parks and markets in Salt Lake City, that offer both convenience and fun for every Salt Laker.

Sugar House Farmers Market

One of the most beloved destinations for shopping and fun in Salt Lake City is the Sugar House Farmers Market. The Market happens every Sunday in Fairmont Park, and it offers both a place for farmers to showcase and sell their crops—and a place for neighbors to meet, art to be experienced, and delicious food to be tasted. The market aims to be educational and fun—so expect for everyone to learn a lot while you also get some errands done for the week.

Liberty Park

A Salt Lake City Park that has even more for Salt Lakers of all ages is Liberty Park. This huge centrally-located park is convenient to most Salt Lake City homes, and it's home to tons of attractions: a splash pad, playground, the Tracy Aviary, a kid's amusement park, multiple picnic facilities, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, walking paths, horseshoe pits, paddle boats, and a pond and even its own farmers market (only in the summer).

Downtown Farmers Market

Whether you live in one of the Salt Lake City homes close to downtown or not, the Downtown Farmers Market is worth a trip. This popular market takes place in historic Pioneer Park, and it's huge: more than 200 vendors sell here each week. The Downtown Farmers market is convenient for parents because you find everything you need here: from produce to bread to prepared food to cosmetics, and beyond. Kids will love it because it has arts and crafts, live music, food to taste, and activities that change every week. You can visit the Downtown Farmers Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the year.

Memory Grove Park

Memory Grove Park is a perfect picnic spot and a history lesson all in one. The park was built to commemorate the lives of Utah's veterans, and it also has a replica of the Liberty Bell. Take your kids to Memory Grove Park for a picnic and a walk in the sunshine, and you can teach them some important American History while you're at it.

This is the Place Heritage Park

This is the Place Heritage Park is undoubtedly one of the most beloved places for local families in town. The Park offers a history lesson, as a memorial to early pioneers who settled the area. It also has tons of activities, including horse and pony rides, a park-wide treasure hunt, and a splash pad. In the winter, the park has a Christmas Market, where everyone can browse handmade goods made by artisans and craftspeople from throughout the area.

There are tons of great things to do in Salt Lake City—and tons of Salt Lake to explore.
